In-Camera 6K RAW. KineMAX is one of only three camera in existence that has the potential of recording and Capturing in 6K RAW without requiring an external recorder. For the camera to record in 6K we had to develop our own codec KineRAW (.krw), which records images in compressed lossless RAW. For other resolutions the camera uses Uncompressed CinemaDNG (4k or lower) and Cineform RAW (3K or lower). Cineform RAW is easy to edit and grade using mainstream DI software. The camera’s large 6K resolution leaves ample space for post-processing, so that reframing, trimming and adding CG is done with optimal results, these results will be felt even if you choose to deliver the final product in 4K. KineMAX can directly record in 4K, 3K, 2K, 1080p covering all mainstream resolutions. What’s even more fascinating about the KineMAX 6K is that it packs all of these features into a highly compact body.

6K details and framing space is beyond imagination, > 18Million pixels in one frame: 9 times of Full HD/1080p, 2.25 times UHD/3840×2160! Every single frame is like a photo taken with a DSLR camera using RAW!

16-fStops  16 f-stops KineMAX employs the latest CMOS sensor which provides:14 f-stops with 12bits output at 6K resolution; amazing 16 f-stops at binning 3K (S35mm framing) & binning 2K resolution (M4/3 framing). KineMAX brings you not only maximum details, but also maximum latitude. KineMAX itself supports a range of crop modes for the same latitude of 6K: M4/3 framing 4K, S16mm framing 3K.

KineRAW codec.We devoted time and effort into developing the KinewRaw (.krw) codec so that users can have access to cinema-level quality editing. The compression rate of 2:1~3:1, utilises a lossless compression algorithm, to keep all of the data the sensor has captured, there is no color sampling or loss. Our 240GB KineMAG SSD can record up to 45 minutes of 4K RAW clips at a data rate close to ProRes422HQ. KineRAW can easily be transcoded into for Cineform workflow and CinemaDNG for CinemaDNG workflow by KineStation ; It really fits 4K, 5K, 6K recording and HiSpeed recording, and saves much more storage room, for easier data backup.

100fps SLOW-MO KineMAX. 100fps SLOW-MO KineMAX can capture in Slow-Mo up to 4K Wide 100fps, while in HiSpeed S35 the camera can shoot in 4k/3k/2k Wide Slow-Mo up to 100fps, as well as 2K Wide to 144fps at HiSpeed M4/3. At same time, M4/3 (Crop mode) 4K Wide up to 48fps, S16mm (Crop Mode) 3K Wide to 60, 2K Wide up to 100fps. When undercranked/ quick-mo, the lowest fps is 6fps, under current firmware. Our sensors are highly adjustable and users can pick how many frames per second they need between our lowest setting and our highest, the accuracy being 0.001 fps.

4K 4:3 Native Anamorphic filming. KineMAX can shoot in 4320×3240@25fp with an aspect ration of 4:30 matching an anamorphic lens with a factor of 2, gaining a CinemaScope frame of 8:3(2.66:1). In post-processing, the image can reach the astonishing resolution of 8640×3240(8K) CinemaScope! Our camera is also capable of operating a standard DCI 4K 096×3076@25fps 4:3 resolution.

35mm.The Super35mm size CMOS sensor provides outstanding low light performance for HD use as well as for making DCP for projection in modern digital movie theatres where signal to noise ratio under difficult lighting conditions is crucial. The camera performs well when used to film feature films and commercials and can produce clear shots in ample lighting as well in low lighting conditions. This is made possible because of the camera’s wide exposure latitude and high ISO range from 80 to 20480, the camera can make films look silky fine or gritty.

Free KineStation + KineCamera = Kine Hybrid System (KHS) We wanted our hybrid system to provide hassle free capturing and post processing. Kine cameras work as frontend capturing tools, filming in RAW for maximum quality, and KineStation providing optimal software for you to further process your work. KineStation can transcoding Cineform RAW and/or CinemaDNG into Cineform RAW, RGB444, ProRes codecs to match your favourite workflow. The KineStation will integrate more codecs like DPX, H264, H265, and debayer options for different controls from RAW into RGB domain.

Built-in Cineform RAW. KineMAX can record in 2K/3K CineForm RAW in real time. CineForm RAW uses high quality wavelet compression so that captures are visually lossless. KineStation can transcode 6K/4K KineRAW/CinemaDNG into 6K/4K Cineform RAW offline On top of getting awsome quality, Cineform RAW increaseses your Work-Flow’s effectiveness. Famous films such as Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire or 127 days used CineForm RAW compression in production. CineForm Cineform codec is cross-platform: running on both MAC and Windows smoothly and efficiently. Nearly all commercial editing tools and grading tools like Final Cut Pro, Premiere, Speedgrade, Resolve, Scratch etc. support Cineform.

NEW LOCK-TYPE EF/F MOUNT. Starting January 2014, KineMAX 6k employs an entirely new lock-type EF mount. Its fixture mechanism is similar to the Cine PL mount, utilizing ring rotation instead of lens rotation to ensure that all EF lenses are firmly locked and that they make good contact with the pogo-pin contact found inside EF mounts. Compared to the more traditional lock spring based mechanism, the new EF mount gains better stability, fitting seamlessly into professional gear, such as follow-focus.

KineMOUNT. We know the cost of lenses so we knew from the start that we needed to make a highly versatile mount mechanism that would allow filmmakers to use their existing lenses. The KineMount (sub PL mount) can use a variety of adapters including mainstream lens mounts, such as standard PL mount, Canon EF mmount (active Iris-controlled) and Nikon F mount, even OCT-19, B4 mount. If you have a 35mm move camera now you can ask us about having custom adapters made in addition to our stock adapters, and protect your investment in great glass. For those on a budget, other lenses made for DSLR can give good HD or DCP results when used near their prime stop.

CINEMADNG Cinema DNG™ is frame-based, just like Film. CinemaDNG™ offers maximum image quality and has the capability to archive your shots as “Digital Negative” which can be latter processed. Once you have finished processing, you can archived your footage in an “open file format”, ensuring your files’ safety and support. CinemaDNG ™ is Adobe ™’s proprietary format for saving motion picture digital negatives; the digital equivalent of motion picture color negative film (not necessarily the equal in all respects as that depends on the sensor used and how the recorded data is processed, just as the results of movie film depend on how it is processed).

SPORT MODE.KineMax 6K features Sport Mode which greatly reduces rolling effects, making your film look as if you used a global shutter. Sports mode is ideal for shooting while holding cameras on the shoulder or in your hands, shooting documentaries or sports events. It’s state-of-art CMOS sensor ensures image clarity in any filming situation. Even if the sensor is of the rolling type, it will deliver global shutter results. Footage will be turned into Cineform RGB444 mov after KineStation transcoding. Sport Mode works with 4K/3K/2K/1080p.

3G SDI and HD Digital DisplayKineMAX outputs monitoring signal as 1080p/720p through two SDI ports and one HD digital port, so that you can use compatible third-party EVF like Cineroid EVF/Alphatron EVF, small field monitor like SmallHD monitors and broadcast monitor with SDI input like Zunzheng Monitor. For focusing, the camera’s zoom function can be Full/100%/200%, and even 800% to make focusing job easier. The in-camera waveform monitor and zebra can monitor the RAW signal or “look” LUT so that it helps you better exposure and avoid over-exposure.

M4/3 and S16mmKineMAX can provide Multiple framing options for different lenses, because its 6K S35mm sensor provides sufficient resolution and framing choices. S35mm framing uses standard PL mounting lenses, and DSLR full-frame lenses, APS-C lenses for recording in 6K and binning in 3K. M4/3 framing uses M4/3 lenses and even B4 lenses for 4K or lower resolution. In this S16mm mode, you can use S16mm PL cine lense, even the broadcast B4 mount lens, to shoot in 3K RAW image, with less rolling effect, and overcrank to 60fps@3K wide. One for All!

KineMAX has high potential, it’s resolution rage is so vast that it is equality suitable for cinematic use and television use. It not only captures ultra high resolution images but is capable of 16 f-stops. When it comes to lenses you can use preexisting lenses or opt for better equipment, the camera’s mount system offers numerous possibilities.  All of this comes in a body slightly bigger than a phablet.
